others that may be affected by the company’s activities.
Working
to exceed all legislative requirements and to better its
customer’s most demanding standards Rosh Engineering
staff have an excellent safety record. Only two
reportable incidents have occurred since RIDDOR
legislation was enacted in the UK in 1995
Protecting the environment and maintaining a positive
corporate social responsibility agenda is demonstrated
through efficient procurement policies and rigorous
waste management procedures. Rosh is registered under
the Control of Pollution Act with the UK’s Environment
Agency for transport of waste No. TWR837377
The
company regularly audits and monitors its health, safety
and environmental performance and rewards its staff for
improvements in performance to encourage an on-going
positive culture.
The overall company objective of Rosh Engineering Ltd is to ensure the occupational health, safety and welfare of its employees, visitors and others e.g. public, contractors who may be affected by the conduct of our undertaking, and in doing so shall ensure:
- The provision and maintenance of equipment and operational controls that are safe and without health risks.
- Arrangements for ensuring safety and absence of health risks in connection with the use, handling and storage of articles and substances.
- The provision of such information, instruction, training and supervision as is necessary to ensure the health and safety of employees.
- The maintenance of the workplace to ensure that it is safe and without health risks, including means of access and egress.
- The provision and maintenance of a working environment for employees that is safe and free from health risks, with adequate facilities and arrangements for employees' welfare.
- That the company and its employees contribute to sustainable development by incorporating environmental considerations in business decisions throughout the organisation.
- That improvements in energy efficiency and resource usage are implemented.
- The improvement of environmental awareness of all employees, contractors and suppliers.
- The minimisation and tracking of waste through quality control and monitoring.
- The prevention of pollution throughout the organisation.
In order to maintain continual improvement, Rosh Engineering Ltd shall regularly monitor and review the occupational Health & Safety and Environmental management system to ensure its effectiveness and undertake the following actions:
- Maintain an occupational Health & Safety and Environmental management system that reflects the requirements of current applicable legislation, and other requirements.
- Ensure sufficient resources are available to meet the objectives of the occupational Health & Safety and Environmental management system, as well as current applicable legislation.
- Establish effective arrangements to draw the occupational Health & Safety and Environmental management system to the attention of employees.
- To communicate the occupational Health & Safety and Environmental management system so it is understood and implemented by all employees.
- Ensure all employees are aware of their individual occupational Health & Safety and Environmental obligations and seek the support and co-operation of employees with respect to occupational Health & Safety and Environmental considerations.
- Establish effective arrangements for employer / employee consultation.
- Maintain company systems for the ongoing identification of hazards, the assessment of risks, and the implementation of necessary control measures.
- Making this occupational Health & Safety and Environmental Manual available to all staff, interested parties and to the public.
- Maintain records as objective evidence to show compliance with the occupational Health & Safety and Environmental management system.
- To review and monitor the occupational Health & Safety and Environmental management system to ensure that it meets applicable legislation and is appropriate to the activities undertaken by the company.
The Directors have the ultimate responsibility for the occupational health and safety of all company staff but may delegate the task of the day to day running of the system. To this end, the QSE Manager is directed to control all occupational health & safety and environmental related matters within the company and reports directly to the Directors.
Company Objectives for Environmental Issues
- Reduce company emissions.
- Reduce waste, improve recycling and separate special wastes.
- Improve Environmental Aspects reporting and monitoring by all staff in order to protect the environment and prevent pollution.
