The Jensen V30 continually de-gasses the oil and in doing so removes moisture from the transformer down to a negligible level. The vacuum plant is compact and operates off a three-phase 200-watt supply and is normally left operating until the moisture and other contaminants are removed. Processing 200 litres per hour the V30 can maintain water content levels in the oil below 10ppm. Its portable design means that after successful oil treatment it can be easily transferred to other transformers.

The V30 has the added value of been able to de-gas oil, greatly removing ageing components that lead to acidic oil. The unique vacuum filtration unit utilises the fact that the boiling temperature of water is closely linked to pressure, meaning that the water content of the transformer oil boils at temperatures less than 100 degrees centigrade if exposed to pressures lower than 1 bar, upon where it can be removed as vapour.

Jensen’s HDU 15/25 PV online tap changer filter will filter to 3 micron absolute (fine filtration) without interfering with the oil’s performance. The oxidation and carbon particles generated by the tap changer’s operation is removed via absorption as is any moisture within the oil.

Each sub-assembly undergoes single and stack testing.
